Ken Schwaber, Control Chaos

Ken Schwaber is a Scrum evangelist. Ken developed Scrum with Jeff Sutherland in the early 1990's, co-authored the Agile Manifesto in 2001, and founded the Agile Alliance and Scrum Alliance. Ken has been software developer for over 30 years, from bottle washer to cook. He has written three books about Scrum: Agile Software Development with Scrum, Agile Project Management with Scrum, and The Enterprise and Scrum. He lives in Lexington, Massachusetts with his family. Jeff Sutherland, Scrum Training Institute & Scrum, Inc.

Jeff Sutherland started the first Scrum at Easel Corporation in 1993. He worked with Ken Schwaber to emerge Scrum as a formal process at OOPSLA ’95. Together, they extended and enhanced Scrum at many software companies and IT organizations and helped write the Agile Manifesto. Jeff is Chairman of the Scrum Training Institute and CEO of Scrum, Inc. powered by OpenView Venture Partners. He is Agile coach to the OpenView venture group, which runs all its internal operations with Scrum, as well as their $300M portolio of software companies. As Senior Advisor to OpenView he focuses on using Scrum to transform companies as well as empower software developers. In his last position as CTO of PatientKeeper, his Scrum implementation was the key to quadrupled revenue in 2007. OpenView is using Scrum to create similar high performance portfolio companies. Jeff will share the secret sauce that helps development teams radically improve productivity and quality while providing a more rewarding and fun working environment for developers.

Gregory Balestrero

Gregory Balestrero is President and CEO of PMI. He spends more than 200 days a year traveling around the world as the chief ambassador for advancing the profession of project management on behalf of PMI. Mr. Balestrero delivers powerful messages about the importance of project management in achieving success in today’s global business environment. Mr. Balestrero has represented PMI at special events in more than 30 countries throughout the world. He is quoted frequently in national and international media and has appeared as a guest on news and business television, including CNBC, BBC World and Sky News.

Mike Cohn, Mountain Goat Software

Mike Cohn is the founder of Mountain Goat Software, a process and project management consultancy and training firm. He is the author of Agile Estimating and Planning, User Stories Applied for Agile Software Development, and the upcoming Succeeding With Agile. With more than twenty years of experience, Mike has previously been a technology executive in companies of various sizes, from startup to Fortune 40. A frequent magazine contributor and conference speaker, Mike is a founding member of the Scrum Alliance and the Agile Alliance.

Jim Coplien, Gertrud & Cope

Jim Coplien ("Cope") is an old C++ guy whose early books set the tone for modern object-oriented design. His latest book "Organizational Patterns of Agile Software Development," written together with Neil Harrison, is a milestone in the Agile software literature. The research behind the book was the origin of daily stand-up meetings in Scrum and of the structural components of Extreme Programming. Over the past three years Cope has been working with Trygve Reenskaug, the creator of Model-View-Controller (MVC). Trygve and Cope have evolved MVC into the DCI (Data-Collaboration-Interaction) architecture, which brings object-orientation out of the relatively static data world into the agile world of role behaviors. Today Cope is focusing on lean software architecture and agile system development as a partner in Gertrud&Cope. He lives in Mørdrup, Denmark with his partner Gertrud, and son Janos.

Alistair Cockburn, Humans & Technology, Inc.

Alistair Cockburn is an internationally renowned IT strategist and project witchdoctor. An expert on agile development, use cases, project management, and object-oriented design, inventor of the Initial Response Technique massage form, author of the Crystal family of agile methodologies and three Jolt-awarded books, most recently an accredited CST, he helped write both the Agile Manifesto and the project management "Declaration of Interdependence." Dr. Cockburn is best known for describing software development as a cooperative game and finally defining what a use case is. He has consulted to companies of all sizes and around the world. Ron Jeffries, XProgramming.com

Ron Jeffries is author of Extreme Programming Adventures in C#, the senior author of Extreme Programming Installed, and was the on-site XP coach for the original Extreme Programming project. Ron has been involved with Extreme Programming for over five years, presenting numerous talks and publishing papers on the topic. He is the proprietor of www.XProgramming.com, a well-known source of XP information. Ron was one of the creators, and a featured instructor in Object Mentor's popular XP Immersion course. He is a well-known independent consultant in XP and Agile methods.

Ron has advanced degrees in mathematics and computer science, and has been a systems developer for more years than most of you have been alive. His teams have built operating systems, compilers, relational database systems, and a large range of applications. Chet Hendrickson

Chet Hendrickson was at Extreme Programming's ground zero, the Chrysler Comprehensive Compensation (C3) system. As a developer on the pre-XP C3, Chet saw how poor communication, inadequate testing, and an overly complex design can doom a development effort. He helped make the decision to throw away fourteen months of work and begin again under the guidance of Kent Beck, Martin Fowler, and Ron Jeffries. Chet, along with Jim Haungs and Rich Garzaniti, in a talk at OOPSLA'97, was the first to report on the Chrysler Methodology. (The term Extreme Programming had not yet been coined.)

Chet is an independent consultant, helping software teams improve the software development process by the application of XP's core values of simplicity, communication, feedback, and courage. He is an author of Extreme Programming Installed. The book, the second in the Extreme Programming series, consists of a connected collection of essays, presented in the order the practices would actually be implemented during a project.
