Why does the Scrum Alliance offer a Registered Education Provider program?
With the Registered Education Provider program, the Scrum Alliance offers a common marketplace for training in topics of interest to agile and Scrum teams. The Scrum Alliance verifys the qualifications of the Scrum Alliance REP applicants, validates their course content, and checks the qualifications of the trainers. Additionally, the Scrum Alliance monitors the performance of the trainers and REP organizations to assure that Scrum Alliance members receive the best training possible.

What are the qualifications?
Scrum Alliance REP instructors must demonstrate an ability to convey their expertise through courses pertinent to agile practitioners. These courses must be approved prior to publication on our site.

What does it mean to be a Certified Scrum Developer (CSD)?
Certified Scrum Developers have completed at least five days of formal training in the Scrum framework and agile engineering practices. They have also demonstrated an understanding of agile engineering practices by taking and passing a formal CSD assessment.
Is there a Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) course?
The CSD program is based on a comprehensive curriculum, not a single course.
- At least five days of formal training are required to earn a Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) credential.
- At least three days must be technical training through one or more of the CSD-eligible courses.
- At least one of the five days must be dedicated to the study of Scrum in a CSD-eligible course.
- The fifth day can be either Scrum or technical training, again through one of the CSD-eligible courses.
- The Certified ScrumMaster course is one of the CSD-eligible courses. It fulfills the Scrum study requirement
and can count for up to two of the five requisite days of formal training. - All courses approved toward the CSD credential are taught by Scrum Alliance Registered Education Providers (REPs).
