Responsible for the delivery of a new ecommerce portal called Neo. Similar in concept to the Morgan Stanley Matrix portal, Neo provides class-leading Social Networking capabilities through the seamless integration of CRM data. Responsible for the on-boarding of the Credit and Rates business and the implementation of Social Networking functionality the role required strong stakeholder management, requirements priortisation, and influencing and team management skills. With aggressive rollout timescales and tight budgetary control (£12M) and reporting required I led four development teams (45 in total) to deliver FI Trade Blotters, Historical Bond data charting, analytics and Social Networking capability similar to LinkedIn and Twitter. With a strong focus on user interface design and business workflow I worked directly with senior business managers to prioritize requirements and manage project team delivery. The portal was hosted on brand new hardware and developed using a mixture of Java and .Net and integration with Adobe Flash and Flex technologies. Implemented a new subscription management system for the FT.com website in record time and £65K under budget. Recognised by the CIO as the year’s most important project by supporting the business need to replace lost advertising revenues with subscription charges. The project included also implemented security mechanisms to block unauthorised access of the FT.COM site by unique machine or IP address ranges. The project completed two months ahead of schedule and delivered £0.5M additional revenue in the following two months.
Managed a third-party vendor to deliver the enhanced iPad FT app in record time and under budget. The role required strong stakeholder management and the ability to lead the vendor development team to delivery high quality functionality requiring minimal re-work.
Led a project team consisting of data analysts, database administrator, and subscription sales and marketing assistants to re-structure the FT.com subscription and marketing database to improve website user performance. A detailed study of the MS SQL Server database schema was performed using MS SQL Server OLAP analysis tools leading to schema revisions to improve overall database performance.
Following the sale of the FT subsidiary Interactive Data I led a project to consolidate and confirm the continued availability of currency feeds from the worlds various Stock Exchanges. The project successfully managed the transition of 63 price feeds.
Managed a third-party vendor implementation of a Sales Force system for the FT Banqueting and Conferences business. Involved in the initial business case submission I led and coordinated the third-party and internal business users to deliver the system on-time and budget. The new system dramatically simplified the process for the management of delegate and attendee invoicing settlement.
Led project team to deliver improved targeting of FX media content to corporate customers by improved real-time delivery of FX prices
