Extensive knowledge and broad experience in public health research methods, epidemiology, informatics, demography, program evaluation, spatial statistics and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as well as IT processes such as project management, Agile Scrum, web design, database management, server management, and GIS architecture development. More than 10 years of progressively responsible experience in geographically based database development and data management and use of governmental data files. He recently served 1. a technical advisor for the Deputy Director, Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion California Department of Public Health(CDPH); and 2.) as technical lead and project/staff manager for a web-based GIS application called Network for a Healthy California GIS Viewer (http://www.cnngis.org) that incorporates nutrition-based program data and census demographic data in an easy to use, interactive, web browser interface.
