My IT career started in the mid 80s at the Universities of Cologne, Bielefeld and Edinburgh, studiying Computational Linguistics and AI. Currently I work as freelance Scrum Coach for Daimler and Deutsche Telekom.

In between I spent much effort and time on becoming a better agile coach by learning and practicing Solution Focused coaching and organization development. Last year I had the chance to participate in the Retrospectives Facilitator Gathering, Currently I'm organiszing the 2011 Gathering together with Diana Larson as head of the organizing committee.

From 2008 until mid 2009 I worked as a freelance Scrum Coach to help Simon Roberts to introduce Scrum at Allianz Insurance, where I was responsible for coaching Scrum teams at Allianz in Stuttgart. Berthold Schreiber and me also gave a presentation at the Scrum Gathering in Munich about our joint experience of introducing Scrum to one of the teams at the Allianz in Stuttgart:

My first contact with Scrum was in 2006, when I got certified as a ScrumMaster by Ken Schwaber, while working as a technical project lead for Siemens. After working for a couple of month at Boris Gloger's Sprint-IT in 2007 I decided to run my own agile consulting business in Germany.

In May 2012 I started working for Valtech Germany as a Scrum Coach and Principal Consultant.

I'm also married to a wonderful ScrumMaster named Grazyna Scherer, who helps me to better self-organize my business :-)
