Eric Rapin is the Agile Coach for the Digital Publishing Solutions Team at Adobe, leading efforts in adopting and improving our use of Scrum and other Agile methods. He has been working in software product development in various roles for the past 20+ years. First as a software engineer, then as a QA engineer, followed by stints as a QA Lead and Manager, Development Manager, Sustaining Development Manager, Release Engineering Manager, and Performance Engineering Manager, and as a QA Manager. Eric has seen the traditional watrefall product development cycle in many forms at several leading companies such as Nortel, Apple, Sun Microsystems, Openwave and Adobe and how its suitability for software doesn't match well with the nature of software development. After learning Scrum and introducing it into his product team nearly four years ago, he has become convinced that the agility and transparency of Scrum is the best approach for software product development. In addition to being a Certified ScrumMaster, Eric has also become a Certified Scrum Product Owner and a Certified Scrum Professional. Internally to Adobe, Eric has developed a reputation for making Scrum work successfully and has increasingly been asked to coach other teams in their use of Scrum, officially taking on a coaching role within DPS.
