Todd Parnell has over 15 years of experience in the technology industry. As 5AM's CTO, Todd is responsible for all aspects of the technical direction – from developing and communicating the technical vision to ensuring that 5AM has the technology knowledge and resources to realize the visionary goals. Focusing on continually expanding 5AM's technological advantages, Todd works with his team to deliver current and cutting edge technological solutions that benefit existing customers and expand market opportunities. Todd has broad engineering and software development experience in the areas of clinical informatics, agile methodologies, and enterprise architecture.

Prior to joining 5AM, Todd was a product architect at Vecna Technologies, Inc., where he oversaw the Quality Care (QC) clinical product line for infection control surveillance, patient safety, RFID infection control, and patient self-service solutions. He served as the external technical liaison for all partners and significant professional organizations, particularly HL7. His functional responsibilities included maximizing long term ROI of all QC products; securing and managing product R&D funding, and leading development of strategic products.

Parnell holds Masters of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a member of IEEE and HL7.org.
