Denver, CO,— SCRUM ALLIANCE®, the largest, most established and influential professional membership organization and certifying body in the Agile community, recently announced Eric Engelmann as the newest member of its Board of Directors.

Eric is the founder and CEO of Geonetric, a seven-time Inc. magazine "Inc. 5000" honoree as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Geonetric provides online solutions and digital marketing services to hospitals and health systems across the United States. Eric’s focus on transparency and employee empowerment enables Geonetric’s employees to run as a completely flat organization, with no traditional corporate hierarchy. The company has won numerous local, regional, national, and international awards for its unique company culture and is one of the most admired workplaces in the region. Eric founded the Iowa Startup Accelerator, Iowa’s only tech-based start-up accelerator program, and has worked with 18 start-ups through the program over the past two years. Passionate about sharing his love of technology with kids, Eric is also a mentor with Imagination Iowa, a coding club for kids and teens.

“We are very excited to have Eric join the Scrum Alliance Board of Directors. Our mission is to transform the world of work, and Eric has real hands-on experience with his own Agile transformation for the employees at his company,” said Scrum Alliance CEO Manny Gonzalez. “In his community, Eric has created an entrepreneurial center of gravity that’s home to two savvy digital agencies, an accelerator, and numerous groups that encourage social entrepreneurship — and virtually all of them use Agile practices. His knowledge, passion, and dedication to Agile and Scrum will be a great asset to us as we work together in the coming years to help organizations transform.”

“As chairman of the board for Scrum Alliance, I am looking forward to working with Eric on a number of new initiatives,” said Pete Deemer, Scrum Alliance Board Chairman. “His real-world working experience with an Agile transformation will give us insight into what companies face during and after this type of change. I am pleased to have him serve on our BOD as its newest member and have no doubt he will have great impact on the work we do in the future."

Eric Engelmann said, “It’s an honor to be part of Scrum Alliance’s Board of Directors, and I am hoping to do my part to help further its mission of transforming the world of work through the adoption of Agile and Scrum. These organizations share knowledge, skills, and often people, all focused on running aggressive innovation models that capture new ideas and take them to market. Agile and Scrum are an instrumental part of how innovation happens in our community. I intend to bring that knowledge and experience and share it with the Board of Scrum Alliance as it fosters more of these transformations in the future.”
