FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE…April 11, 2016…COSTA MESA, CALIF….5 Saturdays, an education program focused on teaching students Agile and Scrum principles, as well technology and business skills, today announced that it has received a second year of sponsorship from Scrum Alliance, the largest, most established and influential professional membership organization and certifying body in the Agile community.
The funds from Scrum Alliance will be used by 5 Saturdays in 2016 to expand workshops for underserved high school students in Southern California, launch its scholarship program, and train additional volunteer professionals who facilitate student instruction.
5 Saturdays founder Dave Cornelius, DM, said the continued sponsorship from Scrum Alliance is important validation for the education program. “We are grateful that Scrum Alliance has sponsored 5 Saturdays for a second year. Our goal is to empower students by exposing them to Agile and Scrum methods, along with technology and business skills. These are lessons students will take forward into college and their careers.
