Denver, CO., October 23, 2014—Scrum Alliance, the largest, most established and influential professional membership organization and certifying body in the Agile community, is proud to sponsor the Regional SCRUM GATHERING® Australia 2014 in Sydney this month. This is only the second gathering of its kind in Australia, and already 350-plus participants have registered to attend.

“Scrum Alliance is very proud to sponsor the Regional Gathering in Australia again this year and to be a part of this annual event,” said Scrum Alliance Managing Director Carol McEwan. “The Scrum Alliance Scrum community is growing rapidly and we are seeing significant growth in Australia and New Zealand, it’s very exciting! I am thrilled that Scrum Alliance is able to help this group grow and learn more about Scrum as they expand and share their experiences and hear from others who have been doing Scrum for years.”

Australia Regional Gathering Chair Rowan Bunning said, “A successful Scrum Australia Gathering is one that captures the spirit of a Global SCRUM GATHERING®. It’s an experience of energy and buzz in the hallways, candid sharing amongst peers, and connecting the community using the power of self-organization. I was delighted that we created this spirit at our inaugural event in 2013, and now in 2014 the spirit of the Scrum Gathering has well and truly returned to Australia’s harbor city.”

The purpose of the Regional Gatherings is to bring together people from the region and beyond to talk and learn about Scrum. Sessions include breakouts on hot topics such as managing a Scrum team, best practices from successful Scrum teams, and introducing Scrum to managers in the workplace.

“We are truly transforming the world of work through these Regional Gatherings, our Global Gatherings, our certifications, and our community advocacy and outreach. This Regional SCRUM GATHERING® Australia is one important way we do this in countries around the globe,” McEwan added.
