Denver, CO., October 23, 2014—Scrum Alliance, the largest, most established and influential professional membership organization and certifying body in the Agile community, is proud to sponsor the Regional SCRUM GATHERING
® South Africa 2014 this month. This is the fourth Scrum gathering of its kind in South Africa in the past six years, with more than 200 participants attending this year’s event in Cape Town.
“Scrum Alliance is proud to sponsor the Regional Gathering in South Africa again this year and to be a part of this event,” said Scrum Alliance Managing Director Carol McEwan. “We are seeing more Scrum activity and interest in South Africa each year, and it’s very exciting to see the Scrum Alliance Scrum community grow. I am very pleased that Scrum Alliance is able to help this group grow and learn more about Scrum as they expand and share their experiences and hear from others who have been doing Scrum for years.”
South Africa Regional Gathering Chair Cara Turner said, “We aim to expand excellence in our industry by growing and enriching our community of Agile practitioners. The SCRUM GATHERING
® is the broadest-spectrum Agile conference in South Africa, focused across the Agile topic areas to improve team and business knowledge. From XP to UX, vision to implementation, sharing the stories of our experiences, trials, errors, and successes has contributed to higher-quality work across the board and made our community a valuable resource for all our members.”
Regional Gatherings bring together people from the region and beyond to talk and learn about Scrum. Sessions include breakouts on hot topics such as managing a Scrum team, best practices from successful Scrum teams, and introducing Scrum to managers in the workplace.
“We are truly transforming the world of work through these Regional Gatherings, our Global Gatherings, our certifications, and our community advocacy and outreach. This Regional SCRUM GATHERING
® South Africa is one important way we do this in countries around the globe,” McEwan added.
