DENVER (July 14, 2016) — Scrum Alliance®, a global professional membership and certification association representing Scrum and Agile practitioners who are transforming the world of work, today announced that Eugene Bounds is returning as treasurer of the board of directors, following a unanimous vote of the current board members to reinstate him.

“Gene has been a strong advocate for Scrum Alliance since first joining the board of directors in January 2014,” said Pete Deemer, chair of the Scrum Alliance board. “As Scrum Alliance continues to grow, it must redouble its passion for Agile values, its focus on pursuing the right programs and initiatives, and its commitment to stewarding members’ contributions in a responsible way. With those imperatives in mind, we’re thrilled to welcome Gene back to the board effective immediately.”

Bounds previously served as a member of Scrum Alliance board of directors, most recently as the board’s treasurer during a time of tremendous growth. As the most established and influential professional member organization and certifying body in the Agile community, Scrum Alliance now serves nearly half a million certified-practitioner members worldwide.

“I’m looking forward to rejoining the Scrum Alliance board and collaborating with a diverse group of fellow directors who appreciate the value of Agile and Scrum principles and are committed to working together to shepherd Scrum Alliance in its continued growth,” Bounds said. “Scrum Alliance remains a servant leader for individuals, leaders, and organizations that want to ‘Transform their World of Work,’ and I’m glad to be part of that important work once again.”

Bounds is the president of Bounds Associates, an acquisition, financial, and program management consultancy based in Alexandria, Virginia. After a 22-year career in the U.S. Air Force where he was involved in progressive technical and management positions in systems and software development, Bounds also served as a senior vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton and chief operating officer at Robbins-Gioia. A Certified ScrumMaster and Project Management Professional, he holds a Master of Science degree in information systems from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Business Administration in information systems from Texas Tech University.
