Denver, CO,— SCRUM ALLIANCE
®, the largest, most established and influential professional membership organization and certifying body in the Agile community, recently announced John Doyle as the newest member of its Board of Directors.
John Doyle is an accomplished financial executive with extensive CFO and COO experience in the for-profit and not-for-profit world. He has spent the last 40 years as a strategist, organizer, planner, and manager with bottom-line responsibility. As vice president of finance for Project Management Institute (PMI), John spearheaded the planning, budgeting, development, and monitoring of both board and management financial reporting.
Lisa Hershman, Scrum Alliance interim CEO, said, “We are very excited to have a former executive from PMI join our board this year. John brings a big-picture perspective to all aspects of an organization including marketing, sales, and finance. I think he will be an incredible asset to us as we make big changes to support our vast community and roll out new products and services in the near future.”
John initiated and managed an organization-wide strategic portfolio and project approval and monitoring process to guide the organization in carrying out its strategic plan while at PMI. He managed relationships with international governments to support credential applications, to include the Chinese government. John also managed the implementation of an enterprise resource planning system to enhance PMI’s membership and certification process.
“As a member of PMI, I have experienced working with John in the past and have the highest regard for his financial management acumen,” said Board Chair Gene Bounds. “John is joining our group at a pivotal time for us, not only in terms of the board development but also the organization’s changes. We could not be happier to have him join us in the journey to help transform the world of work.”
John Doyle said, “I am looking forward to working with this board of directors as we shape the direction and future of Scrum Alliance. There are many similarities to PMI and many differences between the two organizations, and I hope to add value to the group by having been a part of both. The mission and vision of Scrum Alliance is a lofty one and one I truly believe is worth pursuing.”
