Denver, CO,—SCRUM ALLIANCE®, the largest, most established and influential professional membership organization and certifying body in the Agile community, announces the launch of its new Added Qualifications program in 2015 to the global community of more than 350,000 members. Added Qualifications is a certificate-based training program offered to cover valuable, complex, business-critical topics.

SCRUM ALLIANCE® Managing Director Carol McEwan said, “We collaborated with a committee of Scrum trainers and coaches from around the world to be certain the new Added Qualifications program is aligned with what the community wants. The Added Qualifications program is designed to allow members to learn more about advanced Scrum topics.”

With this new program, Scrum practitioners can demonstrate to employers their additional qualification in a particular area. Students will take an Added Qualifications course focused on an advanced Scrum topic and validate their knowledge with a corresponding online test.  The Added Qualifications program will begin by first offering courses in Scaling Scrum Fundamentals. Those interested in earning an Added Qualification in Scaling Scrum Fundamentals will need to hold at least one of two foundational certifications, Certified ScrumMaster® or Certified Scrum Product Owner®.

“We strongly believe this is the answer to a gap in training between basic Scrum courses and more advanced Scrum topics. Scaling Scrum is just the first in a long line of Added Qualifications to come from SCRUM ALLIANCE®,” said McEwan.

SCRUM ALLIANCE® is committed to helping Scrum professionals add more depth to their Scrum expertise and be more competitive in the ever-adapting Agile work environment. McEwan said, “Our mission is to transform the world of work by guiding organizations to become prosperous and sustainable, to inspire people, and to create value for society. We believe in order to achieve our mission, we must build a community of certified Scrum practitioners eager to enhance their knowledge. This Added Qualifications program is the next step in our evolution to deliver on that mission.”
