Andy Carmichael

Andy Carmichael: I'm an experienced consultant and trainer in agile methods having participated in the first FDD project, and used both Scrum and FDD on numerous projects both in-house and for clients. I am a co-founder of xProcess Europe (now OpenXprocess) - a leading consultancy in agile methods and change programmes, and owner of the open source product, xProcess, a project-process improvement environment. I work with several partners to deliver high-value services throughout the world, including: Informator, Iconix Software Engineering, Inc., and Neueda Ltd. I am one of the principal architects of xProcess which is able both to model agile processes (graphically and programmatically) and to execute live agile plans for project teams. I write, consult and speak on methods and processes for software engineering and have published a number of books, including Better Software Faster (2002) on agile development and modelling. My business experience spans three decades, with senior management responsibilities in Systematica, Ivis Technologies, Object UK (which I founded), TogetherSoft, and now OpenXprocess. My BSc and PhD degrees were from the University of Southampton, I am a Certified Engineer and a Fellow of the British Computer Society.
