I have 18 years experience as a Project Manager working for 2 of Australia's Leading ICT Integrators MOQdigital and Dimension Data in App Dev & Infrastucture.  Prior to this I worked in Mining for 10 years, provide onsite support for various operations in Australia and Overseas.

All the responsibilities of a tradition Project Manager still hold true, but the role is no longer just Managing and Reporting.  A successful Project Leader is a facilitator for Delivering Faster, Delivering Better, Delivering Right.   Thats why I like Scrum, because they do not use Project Manager, they have teams & coaches.
