Dave Prior, LAVM, PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, CSPO, ACSPO, CSP, CST,
Dave has been leading technology projects and helping people find better ways to manage their work for over 25 years. He has deep experience in traditional project management and working with Agile frameworks. He believes that project management is headed towards a future where those invested in the practice as a professional craft will be skilled and experienced in both traditional and agile methods.
Dave attended a Scrum Gathering in Chicago in 2008 while he was serving on the Board of Directors of PMI's IT&T SIG. At the conference Open Space he introduced himself as being from a PMI Component and explained that he was interested in talking with folks about how to build a bridge between the Agile Community and IT Project Managers. The conversations that began at that gathering with Scrum Alliance Leadership and SA Guides laid the groundwork that led to Greg Ballesteros and Mark Langley attending Scrum and Agile events over the coming years.
Dave has been podcasting about Agile and Project Management since 2008 both on his own, for other organizations, and events. His drunkenpm podcast and blog The Reluctant Agilist has been a mainstay on the ProjectManagement.com website since it was first launched. His podcasts have been listened to over 1,000,000 times.
Before becoming a Certified Scrum Trainer, Dave spent several years teaching PMP and PMI-ACP certification for several organizations. He also teaches classes for Modus Institute and serves as a volunteer on the Scrum Alliance Trainer Approval Community (https://www.scrumalliance.org/get-certified/trainers/about-the-tac).
