Luke Walter

Luke Walter is an Adaptive Development Coach, helping organizations maximize value delivery and employee engagement using the Scrum framework and Agile development practices.

Prior to becoming a coach and trainer in 2010, he logged over 8000 hours as a member of high-fidelity Scrum teams creating commercially successful products for Danube Technologies (purchased by CollabNet VersionOne). He began practicing Scrum in 2004 on the development team for ScrumWorks Pro™, one of the ‘big three’ players in the early agile tools market alongside Rally and VersionOne.

Before 2004, he managed product design groups at both software and hardware product development companies. His software experience during the internet boom era provided a rich and sometimes tragicomic illustration of the failures of traditional, defined-process management for software development.

A specialized degree in Industrial Design adds a unique perspective to his current role. The union of iterative development with commercial production concerns were early standards of the discipline, prefacing much of the current agile software movement. This rare depth of real-world agile experience and formalized study in empirical product development informs his work helping organizations improve through collaborative adaptation.
