Robert Batusek

Robert Batusek is an agile coach and an experienced Scrum Master living in Brno, Czech Republic. He got his PhD in Computer Science in 2003. He has been helping companies to apply agile methods for 10+ years,

He has started as a C++ software developer in ANF data (a subsidiary of Siemens), where he worked on different projects in the telecomunications area. He went though the architect and project manager positions ending as a Scrum Master/ agile coach. In the last three years in ANF data he was driving the transformation of his current project from waterfall to agile. The project consisted of 200+ people in 3 different locations. Robert acted as the main driver of the agile transformation in the Brno location and at the same time as a Scrum master of several scrum teams inside the project.

In 2010 Robert was hired by the Y Soft company as an agile coach responsible for establishing agile processes in the company. A Y Soft has grown very quickly from startup, it sometimes needed establishing some processes in the company. The Y Soft experiment with Scrum lasted nearly one year. Then management decided to abandon it and Robert moved to his current position in SolarWinds.

There he acted as an agile coach helping develop of the company flagship product, Network Performance Monitor (NPM). Though SolarWinds used some agile elements at the time of his arrival, Robert tried to continuously improve the practices used by the NPM team and steer it towards more agility. Robert worked in SolarWinds till February 2022.

Currently, he works as a freelance programmer, technical coach and organization consultant.

Robert has also been involved in organizing local meetups of the agile community in Brno - Agilia. Since 2010, more than 50 meetups have been organized in 3 different cities.

Robert is a Certified Scrum Master and Certified Scrum Professional - Scrum Master
