Marcos Garrido is a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and the first and only Certified Scrum Coach (CSC) in Brazil. He has 20-year experience in IT projects and has been working with Agile Teams since 2008. As a trainer and Coach, Garrido helps small companies and large corporations to achieve outstanding results when it comes to Agile adoption. As a Coach and Trainer, Garrido has an extensive international experience, with classes in Europe, USA and Latin America (regular classes in New York, Houston, Phoenix, Boston, Seattle, Portland, Washington, Dallas, Lisbon, Porto, Bogota and also the major cities in Brazil). He also teaches Scrum to MBA Students of the Business School at the Catholical University in Rio de Janeiro and Lean Startup, Management 3.0 and Facilitation techniques everywhere else. He's an active member of Lean and Agile community, with strong interest for the challenges of Agile transition, product management and startup's customer development process. Garrido spoke in a number of events around the globe, including major Scrum Gatherings (São Paulo, Munich, Orlando, New Orleans and Phoenix) and the most relevant conferences in Brazil. He was the chair of the first Regional Scrum Gathering Rio in 2014 and is organizing the second edition in 2015. Besides training, Garrido has strong coaching skills, helping Product Owners, ScrumMasters and Developers to improve their techniques, achieving outstanding results. There is no required prior certificate, educational background, or work experience needed to participate in the CSM course, complete the exam, and receive certification.The Certified Scrum Master course is designed to introduce you to the basics of Scrum, and as such all backgrounds are welcome to join and achieve Scrum Master Certification.
The CSM exam is administered online and sent via email after attendance is recorded and reported by your Scrum Alliance Instructor. The link is sent 24-48 hours after class concludes. You have 90 day access to take the exam and 2 attempts towards passing. The exam is in multiple choice format.
All cancellations or date changes must be made at least 10 days prior to the course start date or will be subject to a $150 late-move/cancellation fee. No-shows or same day move/cancellations are non-refundable.
By attending the 2 day CSM course you will earn 14 PDU/SEU that can be applied towards further educational goals. To claim credits a code is provided at the end of the CSM course book.
All CSM courses are taught by Trainers approved by the Scrum Alliance. Taking a CSM course, passing the CSM test, and accepting the license agreement designates you as a Certified ScrumMaster, which indicates that you have been introduced to and understand the basic concepts you need to perform as a ScrumMaster or team member on a Scrum team. This course also satisfies two elements of the CSD track: Scrum Introduction and Elective.
