Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner - Certification

Successful completion of the 2-Day A-CSPO training course means you are not only a Advance Certified Product Owner, you are also entitled to enjoy 2 years of membership of the Scrum Alliance. That brings access to exclusive member-only information, resources and materials.

Certification Renewal

Your certification will be active for a 2-year period, at that time you will be asked to follow the Scrum Alliance renewal process.

To renew the certification, individuals must achieve and record 20 SEUs (Scrum Education Units) and pay a renewal fee.

Professional Development Units (PDUs)

The also course earns you 14 PDUs (Category A) within the PMI. PDUs can be used toward PMP, PMI-ACP and other certifications.

Agenda

This training course focuses on the role of a Product Owner (PO) and their ecosystem. The course begins by introducing the Product Owner ecosystem and providing an understanding of what a Product Owner is and the demands of their job.

The next section delves into the Product Owner role itself. It explores the significance of the Product Owner title and outlines the responsibilities that come with it. Participants gain insights into a typical day in the life of a Product Owner, understanding the tasks and challenges they encounter.

Participants learn what a Product Strategy entails and examine a real-life example to gain practical insights. The course also discusses how a Product Strategy evolves within an Agile organisation, highlighting its importance in driving product success. Top tips from experienced Product Owners are shared to provide valuable advice.

The relationship between Product Owners and stakeholders is explored in the next section. Participants learn about the dynamics of this relationship and discover techniques for identifying stakeholders. Effective communication strategies with stakeholders are also discussed, emphasising the importance of maintaining strong connections.

To provide a hands-on experience, a simulation or game is included in the course. Participants learn the importance of focusing on value and differentiating between outcome and output. They get to experience the Product Owner role from idea to inception, working in a Scrum team under time pressure while emphasising the significance of achieving desired outcomes. Who should attend

Who is Eligible to Attend?

The course is open to all individuals, regardless of their background or experience. However, in order to obtain the A-CSPO certification, the following criteria must be met:

Hold a Certified Product Owner (CSPO) certification issued by The Scrum Alliance, regardless of its current validity status (current or expired).
Have at least one year of work experience specifically in the role of a Product Owner within the past five years. This experience can be acquired after attending the course, and upon completion, the full certification can be obtained.

If you do not meet the above qualifications, we recommend considering the entry-level Certified Scrum Product Owner course, which has no prerequisites and serves as a preparatory step for this course. Additionally, exploring opportunities to gain more experience as a Product Owner would be beneficial.

The course content was not only comprehensive but also tailored to real-world scenarios, providing practical insights that I could immediately apply to coaching product owners, as my role is Scrum Master.

Sam makes the whole interaction real with real life examples and role play. He fully engages everyone so that they can get the most from the training. When I went for my first course, I went to learn Scrum. When I have gone back for more courses, I went for the learning experience.
