Course Introduction:

Trainers and teachers all over the world have created a variety of teaching styles and techniques. This A-CSM learning session and workshop promises to be like no other you have ever attended. Prior students in various sessions have gone as far as to say this class is life changing. (Check out my LinkedIn Profile ) While I cannot promise this workshop will change your life, here is what I can promise:

While this class is based on the Scrum Framework within the Agile Landscape, the teachings are not bound or limited to theory. We dig deep in class and help people solve pressing problems and issues they are facing.
If your only goal for taking the class is to pass the test, or receive a certificate, this class is not for you. While my class average test score sits near the very top of all trainers, this is not our primary goal. Our primary goal is to place you in first person scenarios where you can learn how to really execute in your position, not just recall what the book says you should do. You will leave with new tools to help you perform your job better.
Scrum is not all about software anymore, nor is it an all or nothing prospect. This class will point out real world examples of how well known organizations from startup to enterprise have adopted Scrum and witnessed dramatic incremental changes. While software is still a very important industry where Scrum can be applied, many organizations are finding ways to apply this method throughout their organization. This is not a Powerpoint lecture type training and does require active participation from each attendee.

As for formality, this experience will include:

A complete 2 day classroom session eligible for 16 PDU’s
A two year membership to the Scrum Alliance
Eligibility to take the online test and all fees are all included as part of this session
A complete guide/workbook with over 40 pages of reference materials & exercises

About The Instructor:

V. Lee Henson serves as Founder, President, and acting CEO of AgileDad. His eighteen years of experience spans a broad array of roles and responsibilities. He is currently one of just under 300 Certified Scrum Trainers worldwide and has Certified well over 10000 ScrumMasters and Product Owners. He is also a Project Management Professional, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, Certified Lean Agile Professional & SAFe Program Consultant. He has personally worked with 45 of the Fortune 100 Companies and hundreds of teams to assist them in successful implementation of thousands of projects.

When not coaching or training, Lee enjoys doing motivational, inspirational, and keynote speaking sessions at various conferences, churches, and universities. He has been recognized for excellence in public speaking and does all he can to help others get the most out of both work and home life. He is the host of The Daily Standup, a podcast that tells the tales of a day in the life of all things Agile.

Lee is a graduate of the Disney Management Institute and is continually looking for ways to advance the Agile and Scrum community.

Prerequisites:

Each participant is expected to have the level one CSM Certification and at least one year of experience in the Scrum Role. You are also expected to have an intermediate knowledge of Agile/Scrum. We strongly recommend covering the Scrum Overview from the Scrum Alliance and reading The Scrum Guide prior to joining our workshop.

Formal execution in the role is not required and we welcome people of all skill levels.

My experience with the A-CSM course was really good, especially after the class, Scrum Alliance was quick to congratulate me and provide me with the process to accept the credential and the link for the survey.

It truly is the next level of learning in the scrum master series. Lots of good information especially on the fringes of coaching and team behaviors. Loved the class (and the product).I've taken classes from Mr. Hanson before and this one was at the top of my most valued class. Lee is an excellent class leader and coach. He brings real life experiences to the class. Looking forward to more classes from him.

Lee's Advanced ScrumMaster course was a great experience! Several real-world examples were used to explain the material. This was time well spent, and I highly recommend this to anyone seeking the Advanced ScrumMaster certification.

Great coach, a great class, great material. I will take another class in the future.

I liked the interaction with classmates and the instructor was very knowledgeable. However, I thought the instructor could use improvements in time management and DEIBA. Not everyone appreciates bad accents, questionable stories and wording choices, and repeatedly watching weird YouTube videos.

Instructor is knowledgeable but needs improvement in time management and DEIBA concepts. More information could have been taught if the instructor stayed on topic and professional.
