Learn the essentials of working as a ScrumMaster or Scrum team member in this course. While the Scrum Alliance provides a list of core concepts that must be covered in the class, each instructor creates his or her own material, allowing courses to differ based on the strengths, interests, and experiences of the instructor.

Prerequisite
We expect you to have some prior knowledge about Scrum and have preferably read the ScrumGuides.org.

Course Material
Participants will receive printed and bounded material on the first day of class. The material is in English and will change from Training class to training class. The material will be enhanced by more slides, videos and other pictures in case the trainers will find this useful during class.

Being a ScrumMaster demands a lot of skill and can at first sight look like a trivial challenge. However, once starting the journey to transform the organization there will be impediment after impediment that will challenge the implementation of Scrum. So to use Scrum, using “The Art of the Possible”, there needs to be skilled ScrumMasters to take on this challenge.

Goal
Each individual is trained to be able to assume the following responsibilities:
Remove the barriers between development and business (ProductOwner) so the business directly drives development;
Teach the business how to maximize ROI and meet their objectives through Scrum;
Improve the lives of the team by facilitating creativity and empowerment;
Improve the productivity of the team in any way possible; and,
Improve the engineering practices and tools so each increment of functionality is potentially shippable

Training
The training is done with several exercises. Be prepared to do hard work. The training will give you the feeling of Scrum itself.

The first day is dedicated to the Why, the Philosophy, the Meaning of Scrum. The second day hands you over the tools and the How of Scrum.

Using anecdotes and experience, teaching the Scrum framework, you will learn how to use it to be an effective Scrum participant.

Logistics
Class start at 8:30 am with breakfast. Drinks and snacks provided throughout the day. Food, drinks, printed course material, notebook, certification fee, etc is all paid for.

Jens did a great job keeping the CSM course contents relevant and applicable. Highly recommend taking one of his courses.

What made my experience great was a perfect combination of an excellent, super knowledgeable instructor and an awesome group of fellow students. We had people completely new to Scrum and others that have been using it for some time. Everyone seemed to have walked away with tools they were excited to take back to their teams or to start a new career. I enjoyed every minute of the training, the activities, and the conversations with the class about our experiences and getting feedback from other points of views from other industries. I immediately began implementing techniques and they are being well received. My teams are excited to continue the journey to become Agile.

Our instructor was extremely knowledgeable and the course was broken down in a way that was manageable and easy to understand. We had some great group discussions which kept it interesting.

Starting from scratch with no experience, the course gave me a comprehensive insight of Scrum. Jens did pass his knowledge and passion on! The content was on point and clear, and I loved the team work!

As an outsider (not from the IT/software industry) I was very pleased with the training/learning experience. SCRUM, like all other tools/frameworks/methodology is pivoted on human behaviors and team dynamics. But the framework allows one to look at work not as a major challenge but small wins and celebrations! I certainly would like to put some of my learning to work!
