ONLINE Advanced-ScrumMaster Course (A-CSM)
Our approach to this course is unique, in at least two ways: (a) our approach to helping you achieve the A-CSM (see below), and (b) having the Agile Release Planning Workshop as an optional 8 hours.
We want you to have significantly better results from Scrum, in terms of more fun, more Velocity (productivity) and more Business Value.
We use many ideas to help you move to the next level. We use interaction, Q&A, exercises, improv, table discussions and other techniques to get you involved and to help increase your skills.
Joe Little will lead this course. He has co-taught eight times with Jeff Sutherland. Joe is an experienced Agile coach and Certified Scrum Trainer, and he has worked with other great Scrum trainers. He has been a CST for 14+ years and has an MBA — which is fairly unique among trainers.
To earn the A-CSM with us you must successfully complete 16 hours. We also offer the option of the Agile Release Planning workshop (an additional 8 hours).
Attendees strongly recommend the Agile Release Planning workshop. The workshop covers Agile Release Planning, Release Plan Refactoring (a.k.a. Product Backlog grooming or Product Backlog refinement), and the shift from initial planning into starting the first Sprint. These topics are covered in the course, briefly. The big difference is that you work in a team (table) and you practice Agile Release Planning with real work (a real project or product). (Only the A-CSM course is included in the price quoted here.)
Participants Will Learn:
Our main goal is that you become more effective, and can then help your team, your organization and your customers be more successful with Scrum.
The Learning Objectives for the A-CSM mention seven categories:
- Lean, Agile and Scrum
- Scrum Master Core Competencies
- Service to the Scrum Team
- Service to the Product Owner
- Service to the Organization
- Scrum Mastery
You may read the Learning Objectives here. These will be our main areas, but certainly not the only areas.
In this course, we typically mix in XP and Lean ideas. Having worked with Jeff Sutherland, I mix in many of his ideas and stories. Having a business background and an MBA, I am oriented more than others toward the Product Owner and toward business issues (eg, business agility). We want you to have a full business success, not just a technical success.
