Certified Agile Scaling Practitioner™
Taught by: Joel Bancroft-Connors
Scaling isn’t about adding people—it’s about creating sustainable value. In this hands-on course, you’ll tackle real challenges, avoid common scaling traps, and walk away with a practical, actionable plan built on patterns that work.
Scaling up value delivery is not simply adding more people and resources or picking the right framework. Jamming more work into even more teams is a recipe for stress, failure, and a collapse of value.
To succeed in scaling value delivery, you need to learn to balance increases in capacity while reducing complexity. By building on a foundation of value-driven principles and leveraging common patterns of success, you can navigate the challenges inherent in any kind of change.
Are you ready to transform your organization into a powerhouse that delivers sustainable value at scale? Together, we will learn to guide teams through the complexities of scaling, learn the common anti-patterns and pitfalls, learn how to avoid them, adapt to change effortlessly and achieve breakthrough results.
Learn how to practice Scaling, not simply “Be Scaled.”
Even before the workshop is over, you will have the skills to:
Explain how scaling enables better delivery of complex work and increases capacity.
Use principles, practices, and patterns to create sustainable frameworks.
Identify change management mistakes, challenges, and anti-patterns in scaling.
Demonstrate the advantages of iterative and incremental models with safe-to-fail experiments.
Analyze organizational structures to create a backlog of scaling challenges.
This is not a lecture-driven class. Instead, we build learning through interactive, hands-on learning and exercises that culminate in using the Gorilla Coach Scaling Canvas to create a scaling approach for organizational change.
It’s not theory. The Scaling Canvas will give you a plan to take back to your work the next day.

Want an idea of what your instructor is like? Check out this practical tip on using OKRs in Agile.
Let's tackle the Gorilla in the room: scaling is about creating more value, not just getting bigger. Through this workshop, you'll develop practical approaches to spot and address the organizational challenges everyone sees and no one mentions. You'll gain hands-on experience building teams that have the agency to solve problems while staying aligned with your organization's goals. More than just learning about scaling, you'll create concrete strategies that help your organization evolve and adapt. When we're done, you'll be ready to guide your teams toward sustainable value delivery - even when that means challenging the status quo. And yes, sometimes that means acknowledging that adding more people isn't the answer to your scaling challenges.
Who Should Attend:
Are you facing the Gorilla in the room of scaling - where adding more teams seems to decrease value delivery instead of increasing it? Have you noticed that implementing a one-size-fits-all scaling framework hasn't solved your coordination challenges? Would you rather create an organization that scales naturally, where teams have the agency to deliver sustainable value while staying aligned with your company's vision?
Then this workshop is for you:
Leaders navigating the complexity of multi-team coordination (Directors, VPs, C-Suite)

PMO Leads looking to evolve their organization
Business Analysts working with multiple teams
Technical Leaders, including Architects and Development Managers
Anyone responsible for helping organizations grow effectively
We focus on practical applications rather than theorycraft frameworks, helping you address real scaling challenges in your organization.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Certified Agile Skills course taught by Joel was nothing short of inspirational. He walked us through moving the mindset of our orgs from the goal of becoming Scaled to the mindset of Scaling is a tool. Throughout the two days we broke off into groups to do activities and then came back together to talk about what we learned. There were numerous templates that supported our learning that I will use again in the future. At the end Joel brought it all together with his Scaling Canvas, which is a tool that I will use in the future. Overall, a great course, thanks Joel! - Fred Deichler

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I very much enjoyed taking Joel's new Scaling Training. Joel is so experienced he brings a lot of great learning experience stories to his training, which I really appreciate. He also does a lot of hands-on exercises which allows you to try out his idea in real time. I have a ton of experience, and yet I still managed to learn so many new things in two days! His way of bringing things together really pulled my thinking together, which was awesome. I know I will be using his canvas over and over as a thinking tool as well as communicating with leaders. I give it a 5 out of 5. - Samantha Sieverling
