About
Rod Claar has been involved with software and software development teams since the late 80's. Starting out as a self-taught programmer for fun and to solve business problems, Rod switched from the retail industry to software development in 1994. In his first real software job, Rod designed, implemented, delivered and supported solutions for the largest retailers in North America. This broad experience included work on many different platforms, languages and databases.
Rod Claar was introduced to Scrum in 2003 when he discovered Ken Schwaber's book and became one of the first 400 CSMs in the world when he took the CSM course from Ken. Since then Rod has become a full time coach and trainer focusing on Scrum. Rod has coached dozens of teams and hundreds of developers, business analysts and testers on how to be more effective and have more fun doing it.
In the last couple of years Rod has been working with large teams and complex projects and how to improve agility while working with ALM tools.
In late 2008 Rod formed his own company, Effective Agile Development LLC, to help agile teams meet with real world solutions.
Rod developed the very first Certified Scrum Developer program for .NET developers. It includes his popular
Effective Scrum Developer course.
